The short version: we collect the least we can to assess your English and run your coaching, we never sell it, we run no advertising trackers on this page, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
What we record
When you take the free English level test, we record your spoken answers, transcribe them automatically, and generate a written assessment of your English level from that transcript and recording.
When you register for a course, we collect your name, your WhatsApp number, an optional email address, and the payment screenshot you upload. If you write to us through a form, we keep that message too.
Why
To assess your spoken English, recommend the right course, confirm your registration, and keep in touch about your sessions. Nothing else.
Cookies & analytics
This site stores one small item in your browser: your language choice, so pages load in the right language next time. On our main pages (the home page and the test) we also load the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which records page views and clicks on the “Book a call” buttons so we can measure which ads bring people to us. It does not read anything you type. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, and turn off ad targeting in your Facebook settings. We use no other analytics or advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
Test recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months from the date of the test, then deleted automatically. For anyone under 18, this is reduced to 6 months.
Registration details and payment screenshots are kept while you are an active student, and afterwards only for as long as we need them for accounting or to settle a dispute. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.
Who sees it
Your test results and recordings are visible only to Takalam's teacher, for the purpose of your assessment and coaching. They are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used in marketing without your separate, explicit consent.
To run the service we rely on a few providers that process data on our behalf: our website host, Meta (the pixel described above), and your bank or PayPal when you pay. Each one only receives what its part of the job needs, and none of them may use it for their own purposes.
Where it is stored
The site runs on Vercel's servers. Test recordings, transcripts, and the files you upload are held in Vercel's file and database storage. Backups may be located outside Morocco; we only work with providers that offer standard data-protection safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time by messaging Takalam on WhatsApp or emailing Takalamenglishcenter@gmail.com. A fully self-serve download / delete option in your account is planned but not live yet.
Children
Takalam's courses are aimed at adults. If a learner is under 18, a parent or guardian must give consent before the level test or registration. Recordings for under-18s are kept for 6 months rather than 12, and a parent or guardian can ask to see or delete them at any time.
Payments
If you register for a paid course, you pay directly by bank transfer or PayPal and upload a screenshot as proof. We store that screenshot, your name, WhatsApp number, and email to verify and confirm your registration -- we never ask for or store your card, bank password, or PayPal login.
Changes to this page
